The launch of The Horn at The Half Moon

It’s been a very long time since we had a proper music venue in the town of Bishops Stortford. The Half Moon on North Street has been refurbished and re-opened as a sister music venue/pub to The Horn in St Albans which is renowned for putting on the very best local acts, tribute acts and all the way to touring bands.

Launching on Friday night (19th January 2018) with the best cover band I’ve ever seen, Allergy. Playing hits from The Jam, Green Day, Blink 182, Muse, System Of a Down and ending an almighty set with Faithless – Insomnia.

The stage finally has an epic sound system with a permanent mixing desk behind the bar and what it’s been needing for ever is a permanent set of lights on the stage for that dramatic effect of watching a live band and in my case photographing one. Lights mean everything to a photographer!

It took me a while to find my groove as I’ve been out the game for a little while again, especially when it comes to photographing live bands. I’m looking forward to the future of The Horn at The Half Moon and hope to polish up my skills again with my live music photography.
